We know that improving the health of our awa takes time and a lot of hard work, but working together we can make a difference. This summer Accord members Horizons Regional Council have organised river clean up and ‘spruce up your swim spot’ events at popular swim spots across the Manawatū-Whanganui Region, several of which are in the Manawatū Catchment. Many hands make light work, and no one said we couldn’t have fun while we do it! So check out the event dates and locations below and let’s get down to the awa and show some love.
At each of the events, Horizons and District Council staff and volunteers will be onsite collecting rubbish and invite the whole community to come on down and get involved. More FM will also be there with a BBQ, Nice blocks and spot prizes for those that take part.
Check out event album to see photos from all the events as they happen, and if you have any questions get in touch with us or Horizons on social or on freephone 0508 800 800.
